I am in the process of purchasing a new vehicle, and right now the new Honda Civic EX coupe looks like a good deal. Does anyone have one? What is your opinion of it? Is it a good, durable car that will last for a long time? Also, how much will it raise my insurance? Any answer to these questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

l would say that a brand new Honda Civic will be just about the cheapest new vehicle you could possibly insure. It is a Honda, which means that it will get great mileage, be very reliable, and have great resale value.

Get a corvette z-06 instead

it is a great durable car. l have a couple of friends with civics and most got high mileage around 150 to 200k and its still running pretty good.

Well l bought a Honda Civic LX coupe, same engine & everything as the EX, yours will just have 6 disc cd changer, alloy wheels, trunk release on the key, & some other minor upgrades over mine.

My opinion is that is a great car, it gets great gas mileage. In fact i've managed to get about 35mpg average on pretty much every tank l use. l do drive a lot of highway, i'd say my drive is 80% highway, 20% city. l did not expect to get 35mpg out of it, l was expecting a little less, but hey is great!

As far as longevity goes, nobody has really had one for that many miles, so we can not really tell you. But Honda makes very reliable cars, & mine has not had a problem. l will definiately be able to take this one past 300,000 miles with no problem.

Insurance wise, l did not see that big of an increase. l mean with full coverage, my insurance went up about $900 a year over my old car. (which was a 1995 model) But that is expected since this is a brand new car, & l have a very high amount of coverage added on it. It is also registered for a young driver too, so that adds to the cost.

You will love it though, the only reason l bought the LX over the EX was because l was planning on changing out the rims anyways & upgrading the audio, so the alloy wheels & 6 disc cd changer that come with the EX would not matter to me. So l figured..Why pay $1,500 more for an EX when those upgrades will be changed anyways?

l just bought an 07 honda civic. it does give me good gas mileage and does have good resale(trade) value (i work in a car dealership where l input how much cars were appraised for) the only down side for me is my insurance. it went up $40 a month from when l had a toyota camry. (it could be my age because it is a 2 door and im under the 25 age limit)

l own a 07 civic ex coupe, & l really have to say honda fked up on this one, l have had so many problem with it l dont even want it anymore. first thing happen was my clutch/flywheel burnt up at 3k miles then at 5k miles my radio goes out, & they replace it, & the one they replace it goes out at the dealership. then they have so many recalls on little things, also my paint is started to fade alil & it only been a year & a half so far, & at 16k mile l dont like it anymore. & the drive by wire sucks balls. the only thing good is the gas milage, 40+ mpg on highways, & average about 25-30 on the city. sometime good with the ac on also. but l wouldnt recommed getting it with my pass experience, l should of gotten the si or a nissan.
