l recently built my h22 honda. l believe l overtorqued the main bearings after thinking about it. l was extremely cautious in building the engine but looking back at it l think l thought the torque spec was 80 ft lbs when they are truly at 54 ft lbs. The engine runs fine and has over 2k on it with no issues and the crankshaft turns fine. If l did overtorque them main bolts would it still be running well and turn easily ? How bad is this ? Could l retorque the bolts while in the car or is the weight of the crank on it going to make this difficult.

If it runs fine and the valves don’t tap then leave it alone. don’t re torque the main bolts. If u do then you will half to re gauge the bearings. You will just have a higher oil pressure so its ok more oil better power.
