What do 2 flashes mean on '88 Honda Accord ECM

ECM means your on board computer. You may try to disconnect the battery and re-connect, sometime it will reset the computer.

if they r two ''long'' flashes it would be a code 20 for the electronic load detector. that basically means there is an inconsistent power source voltage to the ECM. typically from a low battery or under charging alternator but it could be a spiking output from an alternator.


there is no code 2 nor a code 11 so if u read it correctly it would have to be the code 20

the best thing to do is to pull the back-up fuse in the underhood fuse panel & leave it out for about 5 minutes. then put it back in. that will clear the code. if may be an intermittant failure & the light may not come back on.

check the battery (load test) & check the alternator output & belt adjustment if the light comes back on
