what should l go for the accord with only 131,433 miles on it good shape. or the sporty prelude with the triptronic trans, im thinkin with the honda history the triptronic would be hell of a price to fix eh. what do you think the prelude has 142,000 on it. what should l get what would you get?

I'mm partial to the Prelude, just because l own one. But both cars r very similar in Design. some parts r even interchangable.
My prelude has 142K miles as well, & about 10K of those r with a turbo. And it is still running extremely strong & reliable. Tiptronic is convenient for everyday use, the fun shifting of a sports car, & the ease of an Daily driver.
Also, if u look into resale value, ur going to get much more for a prelude, regardless of how long u have it.

If those r the only 2, Go for the Accord. l own a 98 Prelude, & l love it. But it is a pain in the ass to love. Kind of a stinging love l have for it. The tiptronic transmission is great for driving, but its known to be faulty. Go on a 5th Gen. Honda Prelude forum & u will see many people complaining about their auto transmissions failing. Great features, but very prone to breaking, since it was in its earliest stage. (Oh yeah & the dealer = $3,600 when l needed mine rebuilt) So l do not recommend that if u do not plan on spending the money, simply because the tiptronic transmission is known to be faulty, l would say its lucky it has 142,000 miles on the original trans (if it is the original & not a rebuild/replacement)
The Prelude is a great car though, l love mine, its fun to drive, very agile & looks really good, l really take care of mine too, but simply because the guy l bought it from didn't, l have problems with it (they really have problems if the original maintenance was not done on time & kept up with), but the transmission issues is known, especially on the 97-99 tiptronic models. The 00 & 01 model, not so many problems with it, but still some. l love my 98 Prelude, & even though l put more money into it then l bought it for (thanks to the transmission for adding that large amount) l will keep it around always. Even if l have another big problem with it, l love it, & i'm gonna keep it till l just can not anymore!

Well, if you are under 21 years of age, l would say go for the prelude just because most teen is like to look cool and go fast. but if you are an older person, go for the accord because it is more reliable
