Which body style of Honda accord sedans had the ignition switch recall??

l think it was 98-02, but i'm not sure.

l thought about buying a 1997, from the previous style. l do not think the 97 accords were bad, but 1998-2002 was.

l hope 1997 did not have bad ignition switches.
Would you recommend a 1997? I am 19 yrs old, looking to buy a new car in a few months.

l love the accord sedans, but l do not wanna waste my money getting one with mechanical recalls and issues. :(

And l can not afford the next style after 98-02, which is 03-07. Too expensive for me.

A 1997 is just right, though, for me as long as no major recalls have been issued.

If you log on to Google and type in 'honda accord recall' you will get information on all Honda recalls.

The same procedure can be applied to any make of vehicle.

heyyy l really do not know. l did not even know they were having recalls, my uncle just got a honda accord but its a 2008 model & he has not had any problems as of yet.

l have a 97 Honda Accord SE Coupe, and they do have a recall for the ignition switch, if it goes out the dealer fixes it for free or you can fix it not that hard l did it myself,

hey, l got a 2000 LX sedan with manual transmission. it was like at 54,000 miles when l got it USED from the dealer in the beginning of 2004. it now has 115,000 miles. only major expensive i've done with it was changing the timing belt, but that was because it was more of a maintenence thing due at like 100k l think.

if u go for an older car, my advice to u is to look for one with low miles. the miles really determine the age/usage of the car. if u find ur 97, cool. but do not get a 97 accord with 177k miles on it.

i'm 24 years old now. l was 19-20 when l was looking for my accord. took me about 6-8 months to find it cuz l was picky, but l finally got it.
BE PATIENT. always remember honda made more than one 97 accord, so do not let the seller make u feel like his car is a rare diamond.
