Do I have to use strictly premium gas in my 1995 honda prelude

if u have a dohc vtec engine yes otherwise it will ping and engine damage occurs. if not use the cheapy if it is the regular 2.3 non vtec.

No, use regular, l seriously doubt your prelude has a high compression ratio. If you hear pinging then you need a higher octane, or a tune up.

doubt it. If is is stock and nothing done. just use regular. its not a race engine or built for performance. DOHC or SOHC dont make a diff. upgrade your fuel only when you need it

YES you need to put premium gasoline in it. If you have the SE, SI, or the VTEC model of it, you need to run premium gasoline in it. The only one that l know of that does not need it, is the 95 prelude S. So l would recommend just sticking to premium fuel if you have an SE/SI/Prelude VTEC model. Other gasoline will just cause build up and bog down performance. Running 91 octane will make sure you keep the engine running efficiently and as recommended from the factory.

if you have the 2.2L vtec model than it is recommended. you do not HAVE to but it can possibly tear up your engine.

if it is the 2.3L si than regular is fine.
