it means to turbo charge it.

upgrade it with turbo or nitros injection

well make it faster. squeeze more horse power out of it with upgrades. which means money and work but fun fun times. unless of course you say your engine was boosted or l boosted this engine could also mean it was stolen.

To boost an engine probably means to add some type of forced induction system to a naturally aspirated engine. This is done with a turbo or a supercharger. They push more air into the engine so you can in turn put more fuel into the engine to create more horsepower. More than likely it is referred to more for a turbo system than a supercharger.
