How many Miles can a 2000 Honda Civic drive before problems start to occur?


Bonus Question : If l was to add a cold air intake to it and headers how many horsepower will the civic gain?

theres no certain amount of mileage before a car starts to have problems
you just have to take care of it
oil change
filter change

Not much. In order to add horsepower, you need to change the whole air intake system. ie. cam head(s) and intake. You will still get smoked by a real car. If you want something fast, then you need a v8. The more cubes you have, the more torque and horsepower you can get. Do not waste your money.

The civic will go 100k miles before needing a tuneup and timing belt. You should not have any problems until then.

One civic owned by a granny that drives it gently, & gets her mechanic who is also her church elder to look it over regularly may last 250K miles or more.

Another civic that has been passed among several owners, who kept poor maintenance records & did not replace fluids until red lights lit up on the dashboard, this may be lucky to make it 80k miles.

With regard to the ''cold air intake'' that will give u temporarily +5-10% power in fair weather, & may lose more than that permanently if u drive it in the rain. How about cold acid-rain direct induction into ur motor?

And headers it sorta depends if ur ECU needs an O2 sensor that is integrated in exhaust manifold, & does ur new header substitute for this correctly? Or do u make a modification that results in a car that wo not pass smog inspection, & has just become useless for anything but off-highway.

depends on the owner l have a 1999 civic and no major problems yet, im a 155,000 miles.

small hp gain with intake maybe like 5-10hp, and headers maybe total of 20 more than stock l would guess.

It can not drive any miles but it can be driven many miles.

Depends on who owns it and how well they take care of it.

The most miles l ever put on a Civic was 192,000. The most l ever put on an Accord was 240,000 and then someone rear-ended me.
