Are the older models before 2001 better or something?

Their are more kits, parts ect.....

Mainly because it is cheap to do. Plus they are really light cars.

These things go in stages.
You need more money on hand to purchase a new car and then spend to add ''bling'' to it.

My generation of Civic 1996-2000 is now more plentiful on the used market for less money so they are in demand as more people can afford them and customize them.

A few years from now will see less of my generation and more of the newer ones. Typical from this point of view.

Of course that is not to mention the cars mommy n daddy bought their brats when they turned 16 and then let them use the Visa to buy the body kit they HAD to have and oh now it needs paint so it does not look bad in our driveway and embarrass us with the neighbors. Then of course there is the ''engine maintenance'' work that involves sticking in supercharged Acura Integra GS-R motor. All b/c they want their little turd to have a ''safe reliable car''.

Eric captured it. Same reason people used to customize 74 VW Beatles. The answer is that there are literally millions of them out there. They also tend to run well and can make horsepower. The more cars there are out there, the more aftermarket parts there will be and parts will be less expensive.

Yes, they are better. If you look at 92-95 Civics (my personal fav) they weigh almost nothing (2000 something pounds) and get great gas mileage (my cousin is DX got 45-50mpg after modding). So you have a cheap car, spend less at the pump and do not need as much power to go fast.

Later models are heavier, get less gas mileage, are less likely to be paid for in full and still have warranties that can be lost by modifying them.

because people like these fact: they are cheap to get them,
they give you give good MPG, some like their design, they light cars.
you have many variety of performance, engines swaps, etc.

Probably do not want to void their manufacturer warranty also. Once it is off warranty, who cares what you do with it.

Because Fast and Furious starred older model Honda Civics.

The only Honda that was older than 199X was a 2000 Honda S2,000.

why do people customize other old cars?

its the concept that u buy the car for cheaper u have more money to make it fast or nice looking.

i personally dont like the 01-05 civic's.

i think the
ef 88-91, eg 92-95 & the ek 96-00 r the best years for there design.

Old Honda Civic is cheap, reliable and have a small sports car look. usually people do not have much money to buy a good car in the first time. so its easy to get acivic and customize it,

because most people who customize are on some type of budget or younger adults who dont have lots of money to go out and buy something with more then 200 hp stock. so what do we do older civic owners of america? we make them! however, are they better, no actually the new civics are DANK, the technology in the new K SERIES engines is superior by far!

Its not that essentially. Those Civic models have pretty strong after market support & are usually easier to come by because of their age & subsequent mileage.
