Strip out everything u do not need to keep it road worthy & registered.
or
Dump the girlfriend/friends/dog etc.
or
Maintain correct tyre pressure.
or
Make the air cleaner less restricted by cutting off the snorkel, adding a cold air feed box/pre-filter/tube (must be large piping)
or
Change differential gear ratio, toward 4.11 for drag applications, or 2.77 for highway/top end speed.
or
Lose weight, yourself.
or
Fit a supercharger
or
Inject nitrous oxide
or
Fit a turbo
or
Fit twin turbos
or
Or fit a precharge turbo onto a supercharger, running av gas, & metered dosage nitrous (go for 2 to 4 seconds) u may want to upgrade brakes, steering, trans-axle, etc at this stage. oh, dont forget the full-race roll cage.
or
Just fit a hypo crate engine from some maniac engine supplier. Try a 454 chev stroked to around 500 cubes, then, as per above.
or
Dump the donk, stretch the chassis, & fit a RR or Packard 12 cyl ''Merlin that will make it boogie.

Fit a ''Saturn V'' launch booster module, if u want to get it airborne.
(weld the fuxxing car on top, for a better view.)

seriously though if you want to run all engine, camshaft swap, piston swap, bore out block. etc.. basically rebuild the engine..

A short ram intake with a small D series honda like yours will most likely only gain you 3-7 horse powers

Attach a Rolls Royce RB211-524 engine to it.

l have had 4 generations of Civics.
My fastest was a 1985 1500s & it was the smallest & lightest.
l can sit here & type 1000 words easily on the fundamentals required to develop additional power & offer the reliability required if u desire ur investment to return measurable results.

The steps u need to follow in reaching ur goal, lofty as it sounds have not changed for over 50 years with the exception of the vehicles & the availability of inexpensive ''bolt-on'' bits.

l do not feel that asking at random what will get u going faster will get u the kind of results u want as l could suggest 25 things which leaves u in a bit of a tight spot. If u currently need to ask what works best how can u with any certainty choose the correct suggestion. Turbo? Call Spoon performance in Japan? Send HKS a blank cheque? Really..what do u choose?

If ur still reading this & can appreciate the message l am offering you, then spend a few hours reading up proper books on engine dynamics aand best methods of getting more power & speed from ur Civic. Your local library has a whole section as does the bookstore. It will be easier to choose what would work best for ur Honda & u wo not need to guess at the best option.

yes civics can beat v8's..boosted, spray, even all motor..if money is not a problem do the k series.throw the d out & get a k20a2 with a k24a1 bottem end..build the motor (pistons, rods, cams, head studs, rod bolts, valve spring/retainers etc.) Get a full race turbo kit or piece together the kit wit a pretty good sized trim turbo. then youre fast :)

well go ahead & strip the interior, gut the dash, take the seats out..make sure u have an awesome suspension setup for traction & some beefy tires!
