My s.i.l. has a 92 honda civic lx. She has had a lot of problems with the car starting. Her timing belt broke, but she now has a few one on. It tries to start, but sounds like its not getting enough fuel. Does anyone know what MAYbe wrong???

if the timing belt was replaced, and then the car would not start, there would be several reasons.

1) the timing belt is off by a tooth
2) the valves are bent, so there is no compression
3} the distributor has a problem

l sounds like the timing is off. l will e-mail you in a little bit to get more info. P.s how are you?

Get a socket & ratchet wrench so u can unscrew & pull out ur spark plugs. Then examine the tip of each spark plug.

If the tip is not wet with fuel, then u may need a new fuel filter and/or fuel pump.

A new fuel filter can cost u just $12 from ur local auto parts store.

If the tips is wet with fuel, then u may have no spark or insufficient current flowing though ur spark plugs. If this is the case, u might want to start off with replacing the inexpensive parts first:

1. spark plugs
2. distributor rotor
3. distributor cap
4. spark plug cables
5. ignition coil
