on my 88 Honda civic l was driving normally one day got home went to leave again and it would not start, later l find out cause l looked there is oil on my spark plug why is that and it wont start since there is oil all over it

If oil on tip of spark plug inside the cylinder, worn cylinder walls and rings or worn valve stem seals.

If oil around outside of spark plug, leaking valve cover seal.

hey wats up ok so when you take your vavle cover off there is a rubber gromit that keeps oil out of the spark plug hole and you just need to replace those gromits they come in a kit and dont cost very much what you do is take you valve cover off put the new gromits in and then pull the spark plugs out wipe them off and put them back in and put the valve cover back on the car may smoke on start up but will soon go away and your problem will be fixed
